The first of our two races of the weekend is done and dusted. Ronde van Drenthe saw our Julius van den Berg jump into the break just a few moments in the race. The leading group was allowed over 8 minutes before the peloton started the chase.

Several attacks led the bunch to speed up and rapidlly it broke into pieces, but our Fabio Jakobsen remained always well positioned and made it to the first group. With only 2 km to go, empty after whole day giving all he had, Julius van der Berg had to let the two strongest men of the race go away. The victory remained upfront and in the main group sprint Fabio Jakobsen took a 20th place.

Today Julius spent 200 km in the breakaway and almost made it to the line in an effort that has brought him beyond his limits and more, and this is what development is all about. There is a lot of racing to come, and this is a high quality experience!
