A very strong Julius van den Berg got into the breakaway of the day in the very first kilometers of the stage alongside 9 other riders. Stage 5 of Tour de Bretagne featured a very fast start that led the bunch to complete over 47 km during the first hour of racing. Several attacks and breakaway attempts were made but our riders always kept the team well represented by always following the attacks or making the cut to large groups. It was a long day on the bike for our guys as stage 4 of Tour de Bretagne featured 198 km. The peloton was off to a fast start and a trio of riders formed the breakaway of the day. And the slopes of the categorized climbs helped the leading group to make the gap the peloton bigger. The bunch was off to a very fast start completing a little bit more of 45 km in the first hour of training. Finally and after several attempts a trio of riders got the gap and formed the breakaway of the day. Today’s stage had four first category climbs inside and interval of 26 km and that section was key for forming an 11-man leading group, after 8 riders jumped off the peloton and joined the three previous leaders. Today’s stage presented the longest parcour of this year’s edition of the race. A total of 203 km saw the riders go through a very tough day on the bike. A bunch sprint decides the first stage of the Tour de Bretagne

The stage was off to a calm start and after some attacks in the first kilometers a duo of riders went up the road, being allowed a gap over the six minutes by the peloton. Once the bunch got to the local circuit the the bunch  considerably picked up the speed and the gap of the leading group began to fall down. Once again, the peloton was off to a fast start in the streets of Stein. Several attacks and breakaway attempts were made during the first hour of racing, but none of those w allowed a considerable gap. It took less than 20 km in today’s Arno Wallamaard Memorial for the wind to break the race into small groups. After a hectic start, our Fabio Jakobsen, Martijn de Jong and Ide Schelling were all well-positioned and quickly bridged to the first group. Unfortunately, Ide was involved in an unlucky accident and couldn't get back to the front group. Cees Bol Due to a concussion as a result of his crash in the beginning of March, Cees Bol is not back on the bike yet. Luckily, he is slowly getting better, but only time can help Cees get fully fit again. We don’t push things, as it is important to recover properly before resuming hard training sessions.
