Action-packed day for the Academy with Meeus in the podium
It was an action-packed day for the Academy as we were present in Netherland’s Olympia’s Tour, as well as in Belgium’s Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen. At Olympia’s Tour our guys lined up for the fourth stage of the race, and we showed our colors from early on as Thymen Arensman entered into the breakaway of the day alongside five other riders. The peloton kept the gap always controlled and after the leading group was caught the day’s glory was decided in a bunch sprint. Following a good progression this week, our Jordi Meeus took third in the day while Ide Schelling (3rd) and Marten Kooistra (4th), stay up high in the overall classification. With four guys within the Top 10 of the general classification, the Academy stays on top of the Best Team Classification. With three podiums in four days, we will try again in tomorrow’s stage five.

In Belgium, our talents faced a strong opposition in Napoleons Games Cup seventh round, Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen. A 4-man breakaway quickly went up the road, but again the bunch perfectly controlled the timing and everything ended in a massive sprint. Our best two placed riders where Alberto Dainese who finished in thirteenth place in his debut with the team, and Cees Bol came in 22nd. The Napoleon Cup Games will be back in two days time with GP Jef Scherens – Rondom Leuven.
