Adam Hartley will ride for the Academy in 2019
20/09/2018
We are happy to announce that Adam Hartley will join the Academy from 2019 onwards. The British climber feels excited and happy ahead of the opportunity, after having a tough beginning of the season after carrying an injury on his wrist after a hard accident. “I am very happy to sign for the SEG Racing Academy. Following two years in the U23 Great Britain Team, I feel like it is the best platform to progress”, points out the talented bike rider who today turns 20 years old.
Hartley, who this season already sized a solid eighth place overall in the Tour d’Alsace and a selection for the Tour de l’Avenir, will focus on the road and the development of his climbing and time trialing abilities. “I feel like now it is the right timing to focus on road racing, and especially on those stage races that climbers and good time trialists can excel. The calendar that the Academy offers is hard to top, so I look forward to securing results for both, myself and the team, at the highest possible U23 level” highlights the British 10-mile TT Junior record holder.
The talented rider spent some days in our facilities in Eindhoven in order to undergo our recruitment process. The professionalism and the way in which the team is run, were two of the major attractions for the British climber, who hopes to follow the footsteps of fellow Brit, Stevie Williams. “The SEG Racing Academy keeps on demonstrating year on year its growth and their impressive numbers when it comes to moving riders upwards. As a British rider, seeing how Stevie Williams used the team to progress to the WorldTour it is a true inspiration and I hope to take the opportunity as well as he did”.
