Adriaan Janssen

What about him?
Adriaan joined the team for the 2017 season from Jo Piels Cycling Team as a last year U23 rider. His strong results in the U23 circuit made clear that we were dealing with an upcoming talent.
There is no discussion about Adriaan’s talent for cycling, so we gave him the best possible program he could have. From time trials to stage races, going through one-day classics, he could do it all.
Adriaan showed himself in some of the most important races in the calendar, like Liège-Bastogne-Liège – where he was 12th –, or Paris-Roubaix – where he launched an attack in the Vélodrome that was only caught a few meters away from the finish line. He also claimed the win at Top Competitie’s Omloop van der Braakman. Thanks to his consistency in the competition, he earned a traineeship at LottoNL-Jumbo as the winner of the Best Young Rider classification.
What was next after the Academy?
From August 1, Adriaan became a trainee with the WorldTour’s LottoNL-Jumbo and rode a total of eight races in the yellow-and-black kit. Always fully focused to deliver the best for the team, Janssen had a notable performance in the Tacx Pro Classic. He was at the front of the bunch for almost 200 km, breaking it into pieces. He played a crucial role in his teammates’ eventual win.
