Adriaan Janssen: “There are many more races I want to win”

Adriaan Janssen seized his first win of the season last Saturday, after riding solo to the line in the cobbled Omloop van de Braakman. “It was a tough race and it was hard to get in the right group. I had good legs and we were not working well together, so I decided to attack and go full gas during the last lap. It was a long way, but it worked pretty well.”

The Dutch rider kicked off his season in Ster van Zwolle, but it wasn’t until Tour de Normandie that he felt his form was getting on point. “At the beginning of the season I did not have the best legs, but since Normandie my form has been way better and that gives me a lot of confidence for the upcoming races.”

Next up for Adriaan will be Saturday’s Liège-Bastogne-Liège. “It is a big goal of mine. Liège is a race that I really like and it suits me well. I think I have the legs to go well there and my confidence is high. I hope to get a good result.”

Getting a win was a personal goal for the 21-year old, but now it is time to set new ones. “There are many more races that I want to win. I want to do well in time trials and keep developing myself as a bike rider.”
