Affini: “My main goal will be the time trial”
Edoardo Affini will be back in the racing scheme next Saturday as he will start in Belgium’s Triptyque des Monts et Châteux. The strong Italian rider started his season with five one-day races including a call up with the national team in the first round of the Nations Cup, Gent Wevelgem. “It is great to be back at such a race after last year’s experience. I had some easy days after finishing a tough block of training. I feel good and ready”.

Affini, who last year was fourth in the U23 European TT Championships and eighth in the U23 Worlds, is looking forward to get his first stage races of the season underway. “My main goal will be the time trial. If I have a good first two stages then I would be able to fight for a GC spot”.

After a successful start of the season, where the team has already nine wins in the counter, the team is eager for more. “We have a strong lineup, so I believe that will be fighting for stage wins and a good placement on GC. The confidence is high and the team is having a winning streak so we hope to keep it that way” points out the Italian time trial specialist.
