Daan Hoole, 1,98m of pure quality on and off the bike..

What about him?
Daan Hoole joined the Academy straight from the Junior ranks. After four years in our program, he developed from a promising young rider with a great engine to one of the most dominant all-around riders in the U23 category. Aside from his performances on the bike, Daan was a true team leader off it as well.
How did he perform?
Already in his first year in the Academy he showed a glimpse of what he was capable of by taking third as a first U23 in the time trial Dutch nationals. His progression was notable as he stepped up in his second year and become Dutch Time Trial U23 Champion and sixth in the U23 European Championships. Daan also improved in one-day races like Paris Roubaix where he missed a top result due to mechanical difficulties. On his fourth year in the team, it was clear that he belonged to the WorldTour, thanks to results like a bronze medal in the U23 European TT Championships,  5th on GC in the Tour of Rhodes, 6th in the U23 World Championships TT, a win in Italy’s Coppa della Pace and notable performances in big races like the Tour de l’Avenir caught the eye of multiple big teams.
What was next after the Academy?
His results were noted by most of the biggest teams in the sport, so Daan was in a position where he could pick his future ahead of the 2022 season. Finally it was Trek Segafredo who offered the best environment to develop and he already started with a traineeship at the end of 2021. Time is proving that he picked correctly as he has some notable TT performances under his belt as well as a silver medal in the Dutch Road Race Nationals.
