Bol takes third in season’s finale Putte Kapellen
Today’s Putte Kapellen marked our last race of the season, and it has been proved all year long our guys played for the win regardless the field. The Belgian race presented a predominatly flat parcour, but the high speed since the starting flag dropped made it a hard one for the bunch, and a large group of riders already got away in the early part of the day, including Cees Bol and Jan Maas.

The group was formed by a total of 21 riders with our two Dutchmen representing the Academy flag, and they quickly got secure gap to play for the win. The final part of the race was mainly featured by several attacks trying to break the harmony of the group and eventually a group of eight riders went up the road, with Cees Bol making it to the one that would eventually be the winning move.

Our strong 23-year old sprinted to third place in the day and completed a really solid season, where wins and results speak by themselves. Behind our Jan Maas, who worked tireless in order to keep Bol’s chances open, rolled in 11th in another selfless performance.

The consistency and the goal-oriented attitude of Cees Bol brought him to where he truly belongs, the WorldTour with Team Sunweb, next to Stevie Williams, Edoardo Affini and Julius van den Berg, one of the four graduates of our 2018 class. With Putte Kapellen, we shut the curtain to our road season, but we will be back in no time!
