Cees Bol takes the 32nd Academy win in Ronde van de Achterhoek
Today’s Ronde van de Achterhoek presented a 190 km long parcour, which included several gravel sections from Groenlo to Gendringen. The race was off to a quiet start with three riders getting into the breakaway of the day while all Academy riders kept their position safe in the peloton. The main group kept always the gap within a reachable distance at all times, before picking up the pace.

In the closing part of the race the bunch approached the leading trio and once they were brought back a group of nine riders moved away. Cees Bol and Daan Hoole represented the Academy colors in that move, which made it all the way to the end. The good understanding between the breakaway members, kept the peloton away and with 10 km to go Cees Bol attacked and brought a rider to his wheel.

The 23-year old was never seen again by the chasing group and took his fourth win of the season after beating his rival in a 2-man sprint. In the group behind our first year U23, Daan Hoole, powered to the Top 10 of the day proving once again his strength and quick adaptation to the new category.

We will be back in the racing scheme in three days time with 1.1 Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic.
