We are delighted to announce the addition of Kyle Chromy to our 2021 roster. The 18-year old American rider will join the SEG Racing Academy as from the 1st of May of 2021 and will take part in some of the main stage races of our calendar. “I chose the SEG Racing Academy because I believe it is the best way to further my development as a rider. It gives me the opportunity to move out of the United States and get used to the European lifestyle. This will allow me to learn a lot in a short period of time and give me the best environment for quality training. The race schedule will also allow me to compete amongst the best in the U23 ranks” highlights Chromy.
The young American had a solid 2020 as he took home the overall classification of the Valley of the Sun U19 and of the Tour of the Southern Highlands U19, alongside a stage win. The 18-year old has showcased his well-doing in stage races and time trials, but he hopes to keep on improving as he lands onto our project. “The key points I want to further my development are my time trialing and climbing abilities. Improving in these aspects will allow me to grow as a GC rider and benefit my punchier riding style. I also want to use my abilities to help the team achieve greatness. Gaining more knowledge on lead-outs, riding for teammates, and other domestique duties will also help me further develop as a rider”
Chromy, sees the SEG Racing Academy as the best way to move up in the European ranks and achieve the ultimate goal of becoming a professional rider when the time comes. “The Academy has shown throughout their history of riders that they know what is best in order to make it to the top. I am excited to start my journey with the team and confident that they will guide me in the right direction”
