Daan Hoole: “I knew that I could win that race”
Yestarday, our Daan Hoole claimed the U23 Dutch National TT title. After placing third last year as a first year in the category, Hoole came back this year ready to make it the best of the event and step up these two spots on the podium. “I am really happy that this goal is accomplished. In the past weeks in the training camp in Loutraki we focussed my training sessions on that because we win that I could win it” highlights Hoole.

Hoole, already showed a glimpse of his TT ability by taking Top 10 in the two time trials that he has part of this season, Triptyque des Mônts et Châteaux and the Course de la Paix. After seizing outstanding performances in his last year as a Junior (3rd in the Dutch Nationals, 4th in the Europeans and 7th in the Worlds Championships), the Performance Staff put on big work into keeping on developing his time trialing talent. “We worked a lot on that discipline and I put many hours on the time trial bike. I like it, and with the coaching staff we traced the perfect plan to be in the red white and blue jersey for a whole year”.

Despite his time trial success, Hoole has already eyes on some upcoming goals, short and long-term. “I will be preparing for the Giro valle d’Aosta, it is a race that I am really looking forward especially the prologue. Also, I hope to be selected for the U23 European Championships TT, I think that I can do well there. More with a long-term perspective, I want to become a stronger time triallist and keep on improving as a rider”.
