Today’s Hafjell TT was the first of a 3-day series of UCI 1.2 races covered under the UNOX Development Weekend. Today’s time trial featured a totally flat 22-km long parcour. Our best-placed rider was Daan Hoole as he sneaked into the Top 10 with the 9th best time of the day. Tomorrow we will face the Lillehammer GP, a hard race in which we will aim for a good result with a strong squad.
Daan Hoole, who this season took the U23 Dutch National TT title and time trialed his way to sixth in the U23 European TT Championships, looks back to today’s performance and the weekend ahead. “It was a good performance and I think I can be satisfied. I paced right and left it all on the road. Maybe some small details could have gone better, like my aero position and choosing the right line. The goal for the next days is to race smart and as a team. And then I think we can really target to win. Tomorrow is a tough course and one of the strongest is gonna win probably. On Sunday we have a really nice course with gravel which suits a lot of riders from the team so that is gonna be fun. The next big goal for me will be the worlds Time trial and road race. Especially the time trial I am really gonna prepare myself for that. And then Paris Tours and Olympia’s Tour”
