Daan Hoole signs with the Academy for the next two years
We are happy to announce that Daan Hoole will join the Academy for the next two seasons. After a successful last year as a junior during which Daan showed to be one of the top junior riders out there, he will enjoy his first experience in the U23 ranks wearing the colours of our team. “I am really happy to get the chance to sign for SEG Racing Academy and I am really looking forward to getting the 2018 season underway. The racing program looks great and the team management and staff provides a great support”, says Hoole.

The Dutch youngster has shown his talents in 2017 as he finished runner-up in Paris-Roubaix Juniors and snatched podium spots in Belgium’s Danilith – Nokere Koerse (3rd) and Menen-Kemmel-Menen (2nd), before riding to third in France’s La Route des Géants in the end of August.

“I am trying to develop into a classics rider who can go over cobbled climbs as well. Knowing the history the team has in that race I would like to do Paris-Roubaix U23”, highlights the Dutch rider.

“I want to improve and work my time trial skills and development myself as a more complete rider”, says Hoole, who already had some top results when racing against the clock as he was third in the junior nationals and fourth in the European Championships.

Daan is currently in Norway, where he is expected to take part in the time trial at the Junior World Championships that are currently taking place in Bergen, Norway.

Academy Manager Bart van Haaren comments on the signing of the talented Dutch rider:

“For us it is great news that we could bring Daan to our team. He has showed his talent and consistency last year and arose as one of the best in his category. He achieved notable results throughout the season, not only in important one-day classics but also in time trials where he competed against a very strong field. Daan has a clear vision of the rider he want to develop into and we are really looking forward to working with him and helping him reach his goals.”
