De Vries: “I am happy with how my legs are.”

After recovering of a very scary crash last month during a training ride in Limburg, our Hartthijs de Vries completed his first stage race of the season. The strong Dutchman already showed his rising form in the Nationals, where he took the bronze medal in the Road Race after narrowly missing out the podium in the Time Trial race, before tackling the the five days long Giro valle d’Aosta: “The feeling in Aosta was getting better day by day. After the team camp in Greece I didn’t ride in the mountains, so I used this race to get that racing feeling again.”

De Vries feels ambitious and relaxed ahead of the late part of the season: “There are some big races coming up for me and I want to focus my preparation towards them. The Europeans Championships and hopefully the Tour de L’Avenir are races that I am really looking forward to do.”

The 21-year old will be back on racing mode next week in France: “I am really looking forward to Tour de l’Alsace. I am feeling confident and I want to show myself and give the best I have. I am happy with how my legs are right now.”
