The Belgian youngster, who joined the SEG Racing Academy ahead of the 2021 season, has secured a WorldTour deal with Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert that will kick off in 2023. De Pooter became a trainee of the Belgian WorldTour squad in the latter part of the season already. For the upcoming year, he will be defending the colors of Hagens Berman Axeon.

“I’m really looking to the future! Turning pro was one of my biggest dreams and that I achieved that dream is very special, so I’m really looking forward to giving everything to show myself as a rider in the professional ranks. My goals for 2022 are just trying to win the big races and make my engine a bit bigger to be ready for the pro category” highlights de Pooter.

In his first year in the U23 ranks, de Pooter showed glimpses of his talent with solid placements at the Course de la Paix and Top 10 in the Planche des Belles Filles at the Tour d’Alsace among other results. “The best thing about being with the Academy was without no doubt the races and the people I met there! I am very grateful for everything I learned during this past year”.
