Edoardo Affini was invited to join Quick-Step Floors in their training camp in Calpe
From the past 11th of December to the 21st our Italian talent, Edoardo Affini, was in Spain as he was invited to join WordTour’s Quick-Step Floors in his first training towards the 2018 season. The 21-year, who was 8th in the last U23 TT World Championships in Bergen, took the most of this chance. “Having the opportunity to stay in the same hotel and ride my bike together with these great riders was just amazing. It feels bit strange as I am used to see them battling in the biggest races of the world, but all in all I made it count!”.

Edoardo had a great 2017 seizing strong results as fourth place in the U23 European Championships TT and a sixth place overall in the Olympia’s Tour, but he is ready to keep improving. “Being there at that time of the year will surely help me in my development as a rider. By seeing how the pros acted during the day how they ate and trained and how they recovered it is key in part of my learning process. Also the fact that I could  directly ask them for advice was a big added point” highlights the Italian TT specialist.

This 10-day experience in Calpe was very positive for Affini as he gets ready for the 2018 season, where he will seek to improve his skills as a complete bike rider. “It was a great experience and a very cool opportunity and it helped me with my preparation for the next season. In 2018 all the TT will be a goal for me. I want to perform well in races like Paris-Roubaix and I know that if I work hard and improve as much as possible I will achieve my ultimate goal, turning pro”.
