Today’s SEG eRacing U19 and U23 Series, kicked off with hard 40-km in GP Pienza. The race was off to a fast start with many riders holding into the peloton in the firt slopes of the day, and it wasn’t until a hard attack from David Dekker with 30 km to go that the peloton started to lose some riders. The SEG eRacing Academy riders made the numbers count, and talents of the likes of Daan Hoole and Harrison Wood were representing the Academy flag in the chasing moves.

wWith 15 km to go, Harrison Wood launched a strong attack which eventually was the winning one and was never seen again by the peloton. Back in the group behind, Daan Hoole covered a couple of attacks to keep his teammates’ position safe, while Wood time trialed his way to a very convincing win. In the bunch behind, the second place went to Andrew Bidwell from Team Skoda Fruzio, who with a late-attack got some meters over the chasers, and George Mills-Keeling rounded up the podium. In the U19 classification, the victory went to George Wood from the Spokes Race Team, who did not only hold onto the main group for the whole duration of the race, but also sprinted to fourth in the overall classification. Full results will be published in firstcycling.com

The SEG eRacing U19/U23 Series will be back on the 26th of June with the Mont Ventoux Challenge.

Harrison Wood, winner of the U23 Category:
“It was a pretty hard uphill start, but after that the bunch took it easy. I saw a chance of attacking in the third lap so I went all in and I could go all the way to the line. We had the numbers and we executed it perfectly as a team”.

George Wood, winner of the U19 Category:
“It’s great to have some racing action during these times. It was a hard race, but I could stay with the main bunch and get all the way to the line with them, so I am pretty happy with my performance!”
