Evensen and Hollanders share his thoughts ahead of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Tomorrow we will be at the start line of one of the most iconic Belgian classics. Omloop Het Nieuwsblad holds a 170 km long parcour including some of  the most well-known cobbles section that will make tomorrow’s a tough ride for the peloton.

Our Henrik Evensen, knows the significance of the importance of starting in this race:

“Its a special race. A little different from the other races we do and in my opinion one of the coolest on the calendar.

This will be my first race back after a long period of sickness and recovery. Training has been good lately, but racing is always a different story. In these kind of races you can’t just sit on for an easy ride to the finish. I’m going to give everything form the start and really be a part of the race for as long as possible. If I have a good day I hope to be there all the way to the line. The way the team has been racing lately, I’m confident we will be fighting for the victory if we commit. I am really looking forward to it!”

Our Performance coach and DS for the race, Dries Hollanders highlights the critical points of the race, and the importance to tackle it as a unit:

“OHN is a very nice race for our guys to confirm their excellent performances from the last weeks. I’m sure we can ride their also for victory. Critical points in the race are after 50km the combination of Taaienberg/Eikenberg en the next combi after 80km Leberg/Berendries. And we can not underestimate the local lap, very hard with cobbles and the finish on top of the hill Grotenberge. Therefore, it is important that we ride as one team.  In the last weeks we have shown that we know how to do it well.  Together we are stronger!”.
