Four of our riders will represent their national countries in tomorrow's road road in the U23 World Championships. The riders will go through a 19,1 kilometers long circuit located in Bergen a total of ten times. The main difficulty of the day will be the Salmon Hill, a climb that features a pending average of 6,4% throughout its 1,5 kilometers.
Edoardo Affini, who put on a great performance on Wednesday in the TT where he finished in eighth place, will defend the colors of "La Tricolore" while Lucas Eriksson will be part of the Swedish squad. Dutch U23 National Champions, Julius van den Berg and Fabio Jakobsen, will be wearing orange as have been selected to represent The Netherlands.
Fabio Jakobsen, who already holds nine wins under his belt this season, shares his thoughts going into one of the most important events of the year:
"I am feeling really good I feel ready to go on and fight for the rainbow stripes, for me it is the biggest race of the season. About the circuit, it will interesting how it goes as the lap is hard and will make it a tough one, plus 191 km it is way longer than the regular U23 races. I would like to go for the win tomorrow, but I will focus on giving my all and come out with the best result possible."
From the Academy we want to wish all the best to all our representatives in Bergen. Enjoy the experience!
