Frigo: “I’ll target hard stage races with high GC ambitions”
After did so Edoardo Affini in 2018, Marco Frigo will bring back the famous ‘tricolore’ jersey back to the Academy as he currently holds the U23 Italian Road Race title. The young Italian recently joined his 2020 teammates in our Team Building camp in Eindhoven. “I really enjoyed getting together with the team, those days just flew by. Everything we did during those days, the tests, the activities, the visits to the sponsors HQ, is just another prove that the Academy is the right environment to grow up on and off the bike. The relationship with the teammates was really good, and I felt comfortable from the first day, so that’s really important”.
After joining one of the best Italian development programs, Zalf Euromobil Fior, he’s ready to kick off his second year in the category. “In 2020 I’d like to achieve some good results and help the team to fight for the win, but also I want to make the most of everything that the Academy offers. In fact during the team camp I was shown already another mindset on how to approach training and performance”.
The high-quality calendar that the Academy puts across was one of the main attractions for Frigo, and in 2020 he will be ready to tackle it in style. “It’s going to be a special season because of the great calendar that I will have to put up with. Particularly I will put special focus and attention to hard race with GC ambitions. I want to gain expertise and learn how to prepare and peak for this events”.
