The talented Italian climber, Marco Frigo, joined the Academy ahead of the 2020 season, which was his second year in the U23 category. The strong Italian came into the team as the U23 Road Race national champion and aimed for a strong season of developing on and off the bike while developing onto a stage race contender.

“2020 has been a strange season. Of course, if you add that it was my first year at the Academy, everything was almost new to me. The premises for the year were to make a good step in my development; and I’m happy to consider this 2020 very productive in this way. On the racing side of things, I’m a bit disappointed in myself: the global situation did not help but on the few occasions I could show myself, I wasn’t at the level that I desired” points out Frigo.

The 20-year old will continue in our project for the coming season, and despite that young off-season that our talents are involved in, he already has a clear to-do list for the upcoming period. “As mentioned, I am proud and positive of the improvement made. Thanks to the performance staff I stepped up my physical level and also the team helped me to become a better cyclist, approach each race differently, race in a high-level program, and more!”.

The upcoming season will be one in which Frigo will have marked a lot of goals to achieve along the way. “I look to cycling in a very specific way. Hard work pays off. And the key is that I enjoy working hard. Besides that, I feel that I’m in the perfect team, with a solid base and the needed experienced to support me in my growth” concludes the Italian rider.
