After our season debut earlier this week at Le Samyn, we are ready of round two of our season with GP Monsére. The parcour presents a predominantly flat route that will see the peloton tackle a total of almost 200 km and up to 11 cobbled sections that will be key to decide the eventual day’s winner. After a strong performance in Le Samyn, in which Daan Hoole showed his strength by riding all day long in the winning group, the morale and ambition of the team are high coming into the race.

Lineup GP Monsere: Dries de Pooter, Stan van Tricht, Daan Hoole, Maikel Zijlaard, Wessel Krul, Milan Paulus & Jesper Rasch.

Dries Hollanders, Performance Coach and DS for the race shares his thoughts about it:
“We are satisfied with our performance in Le Samyn. It’s always difficult to judge when it’s the first race of the season, especially when it’s a high level 1.1 with several WorldTour teams at the start list. But in the end, the conclusion was that the guys trained well during the winter and that they are more than ready to fight for good results in the next races, starting this weekend with again a 1.1 GP Monsére. The team’s ambitions will be to initially place a young rider in the break of the day. That’s beneficial for their experience and gives the team nice publicity, also because the race has live coverage on national TV. For the older guys, they have to defend the team colors in the final. We expect again a good result from Daan Hoole, in Samyn he has proven to be ready to perform at the highest level. Maikel was not able to show off his good legs after a crash, he is very motivated to prove his shape. But when it’s coming to a sprint, we have Jesper and Wessel to give it a try, top 10 would be a good result for them!”
