Our Adam Hartley was recruited by the Academy last winter, and during 2019 he enjoyed his first season with the team. The talented British climber showed strong form in the second part of the season as he wrapped up solid GC results. “Looking back on my personal 2019, I know that I had some ups and downs but I can be satisfied. I got some strong results for myself whilst gaining experience and helping the team to victory. It was easy to settle into the team because all riders got on well together, and this is why we worked so well on the bike” highlights Hartley.

The talented British rider, went on to finish second overall in one of the most prestigious races of the U23 circuit, the Giro valle d’Aosta. The youngster carried his form onto Tour d’Alsace, in which he showed again his super climbing skills with a Top 10 finish all the way up to La Planche des Belles Filles and took fifth in the following day’s queen stage of the race. “Aosta and Tour d’Alsace were the two highlights of my season, but I still have in mind that tough period I went through in early season due to illness. That motivates me to have a really good season next year”.

The 21-year old is ready to tackle the upcoming season and make the most of his last year in the U23 category. “In 2020 I will be hoping to take another step up and build on top of all the work done in 2019. I will be looking for top class results in hilly one-day races and a solid overall result in mountainous stage races. I know that with enough consistency throughout the year nice performances will come. The high-quality program is there, so I need to focus and be ready when the right time comes” finalizes the talented British rider.
