After yesterday’s brilliant win by Wessel Krul in the opening stage of the Ronde de l’Isard 2020, that powered him atop of the overall classification, today the bunch faced a hard double-header. The race had an 80 km long stage in the morning that features two HC climbs. The race went off to a fast start and then once it hit the slopes of the Port des Bales, the bunch broke into pieces, with the riders making it slowly all the way to the top. Our best-placed rider was Marco Frigo, who is slowly getting back to shape after the problems that forced him to abandon the Giro d’Italia U23. The former U23 national champion, finished the morning stage rounding up the Top 20 in the overall classification. The afternoon stage presented a flat but fast TTT around Bagnères-de-Luchon, which featured 11,5 km. Our talents put in a solid effort which got them an eighth place in race against the clock.  Aike Visbeek looks back on a hectic day: “The morning stage was a full gas one from the start. We tried to support our best climber, Marco Frigo, who despite his sustained physical problems, he’s feeling better everyday and rode as far as he could. That’s also part of his development. In the TTT, we knew that it would be hard because we came into it after two very strong efforts, but we did a good performance. There are some things that we can improve but we can be happy with how it went. Now we have two very hard day ahead of us in which we will try to show ourselves”.
