Jakobsen takes second in Giro’s stage 4

Once again our riders went for an aggressive ride in today’s stage four of the Giro d’Italia. Gabriel Cullaigh jumped into the break of the day together with two other riders and started to open a considerable gap to the peloton. The 3-man group was allowed up to five minutes before the bunch started the chase, but they got to the top of the last climb one minute ahead. Our British rider showed his power and was caught with only 2 km to go. Behind, our guys worked to put Fabio Jakobsen in a perfect position for the final 200 m uphill finish, and the U23 Dutch national champion took second in the bunch sprint.

Halfway through the stage Jan Maas was forced to stop riding because of a crash in the first kilometers. The strong Dutchman went down early in the stage but put in a brave effort and kept riding trying to help the team as much as possible. There is no doubt that he will be back on the bike soon!

It was a brave effort from everyone in the team. We were close, but we will keep on fighting!
