Kaden Groves to ride for the Academy in 2019
We are pleased to announce that 19-year old, Kaden Groves, will join the Academy in 2019. The talented Australian rider, who joined Mitchelton Bike-Exchange in June, will take a next step in his development with the hopes of improving on and off the bike. “I am really excited to be joining SEG Racing Academy in 2019 and I am looking forwad to be racing in such a special environment and being part of one of the best development teams in the world” highlights Groves.

The Aussie bike rider completed a solid second year as U23 as he took the win in the closing stage of 2.HC’s Tour of Qinghai Lake in August, before seizing the points classification as well as a third place overall in the Tour of China II. Groves excels for his fast finish and his well-doing when racing against the clock, but he wants to keep on growing and developing into a more complete set of skills. “I expect a big year of racing in Europe, which will be a challenge, but I am ready to take anything that this experience throws at me. I want to work hard with the Performance Staff, and if I do so good results will come along the way”.

Kaden Groves will follow the footsteps of fellow Australian Alexander Evans and will become our second rider from the land Down Under in our 2019 roster. Both riders eye on following the progress and development of Academy Alumni Nick Schultz, who recently moved to WorldTour status after graduating from the Academy in 2016. “We are in one of the most highly respected development teams out there, and it will be an extra motivation to push ourselves harder everyday. The reputation of developing riders to the Pro Ranks is a fact, so I can’t wait to get started and development under an amazing program”.
