Today it was the turn of one of the most special races of the season, Koga Slag om Norg. It’s gravel sections always presents a challenging parcour not only for the peloton, but also for the mechanics. The 191 km long race started in a fast way, as our Edoardo Affini made the initial move and went away alongside another rider.

That first move was quickly followed by several others, and at the end, the break was formed by 7 riders, including our Marten Kooistra in addition of our Italian rider. They got a maximum gap of more than four minutes before the main group started to pick up the pace and reduced the difference. In the closing part of the day, the tough off-road sections broke the race into pieces, but Kooistra showed his good legs and kept the Academy colors well-represented in the front, while Cees Bol came from the bunch.

The great performance of our 20-year brought him to fourth place in the day after spending the day in the break. The superb team performance was rounded up by Cees Bol who rolled in seventh after his debut in the pro ranks last week in the Tour of Denmark with Team Sunweb.
