It wasn’t easy for the breakaway to go clear as the peloton was off to a fast and nervous start in today’s Ronde de l’Isard stage 3.
It took almost an hour of racing for 4 members of the break to be allowed a gap by the peloton.
On the slopes of the Col de Chioula the peloton contained a reduced numbers of riders, and they got the foot of Plateau de Beille 25 seconds behind the last two members of the break. Due to the high pace, two kilometers in the climb the main group was formed by only fourteen riders, including our climbers Williams and Maas.
At the top of Plateau de Beille, Williams rolled in sixth place and defended his position in the overall classification.
Ahead of tomorrow’s final stage we currently have two riders in Ronde de l’Isard’s GC Top 10, as Jan Maas currently sits in tenth place overall.
