Dekker and Hoole set to chase Europeans and Giro success

In yesterday’s U23 Dutch Road Race Nationals, David Dekker and Daan Hoole were involved in a crash that forced the later to abandon the race a couple of laps later. Despite the setback crashing in a race means and after both riders visited the medical center any major injuries were discarded, they are set and confirmed to keep their program. Both riders will fight for glory in the U23 European Road Race Championships as part of the Dutch National team, as well as in the U23 Giro Ciclistico d’Italia in Academy colors next week. Daan Hoole will also take part in the U23 European time trial event on Monday, a race in which he scored a sixth place last year in his second year in the category.
Daan Hoole about yesterday’s crash:
“In yesterday’s race I crashed in a downhill but after two laps the wounds started to bleed pretty bad so I stopped. Despite some deep wounds I am still able to do the program I have. I recovering before the Europeans championship with the goal of doing best over there. I’m really looking forward to it and I am going to give my absolute everything”.
David Dekker, looking forward to racing in the Europeans Road Race:
“Yesterday’s crash was very unlucky in a tricky corner, but after checking it more deeply I don’t have any injuries and just some wounds but nothing important. My morale for the European Championships and the Giro is still very high and I think that we can do some really nice things in both races”
