No luck but bad luck at Omloop het Hageland

Yesterday’s Omloop het Hageland marked the debut of our new trainee, Jordi Meeus. The course presented a mix of cobbles and dust that made the race even tougher for the peloton.

Our riders were off to a good start as Henrik Evensen and Marten Kooistra made their way to the breakaway of the day alongside 10 other riders. The pack allowed that group a maximum gap of five minutes. When the course entered to the final end our guys had no luck but bad luck as a our big Norwegian rider suffered a puncture that made him lose contact with the front group and was obligated to chase back on. With only 15 km remaining Marten Kooistra also had a flat tyre and had to leave front group slip away, so did his chances of finishing upfront.

Our best man at the line was the Dutchman Kooistra who came in 24th place after a hectic day on the bike, only one minute down to the race winner.

We hope for better luck in the upcoming races!
