Olympia’s Tour preview
The 6-day long Olympia’s Tour will kick off in Assen in two days time with a flat stage that will see the fastest sprinters fighting for the first leader’s jersey. The Dutch U23 race will compress 7 stages in six days, combining a road stage and a time trial on the fifth day of racing. The Academy will present a balanced lineup that will include combative riders, sprinters as well as time trial specialists in order to contest every stage of the tour. With predominantly flat stages in the Netherlands, wind will be an important factor to take into account, as well as the differences made in the TT will be key when deciding the overall winner.

The Olympia’s Tour will feature our last stage race of the season, and the team will look back to relive last year’s memories as we came home with two stage wins, three riders within the Top 10 overall, and we ended up on top of the Best Team Classification.

Lineup Olympia’s Tour: Ide Schelling, Daan Hoole, Marten Kooistra, Thymen Arensman, Jordi Meeus and Edoardo Affini.

Jordi Meeus, our Belgian sprinter, looks forward to the action-packed week:
“I believe that we have a really strong team and I think that we have a good chance to win stages. The fact that we have some really good time trialists in the lineup means that we have a good shot for a high placement in the overall classification. We will be riding in the Netherlands, so we will have to be focused all day long, because behind every corner there can be dangerous wind so, we expect some nervous and hectic days. Personally, I look forward to the race, and I think that I can do well in some of the stages. In the weeks leading up to the race my shape has been good, so I am for some good results”.
