Born in 2001, Milan Paulus will be the youngest rider of our 2020 roster. The talented Belgian rider, who will join the Academy as from his first year in the U23 ranks, met with his teammates last month in our first team building camp. “The atmosphere was good from the very first moment, this is a solid group where everyone will do their best for the next guy”.
Paulus is ready to seize the opportunity and make the most of the development focus of our program. “Next year I want to be an essential and important team player. I especially want to see how far I can go as a rider and be as close as possible of the best riders in the category”.
The 18-year old, who in September finished in 10th position at the Junior World Championships Road Race in Yorkshire, is looking forward to getting stuck into the high-quality racing calendar that the Academy puts across, and that will help him to slowly develop himself on the bike. “I want to focus on long stage races, like the ones we will do in France and Italy. I want to learn how to quickly recover between stages as I am focus to develop into a GC rider. I will also put special attention to improve my TT ability”.
