We are really excited to report that 17-year old Milan Paulus has agreed to join the Academy for the 2020 season onwards. “I’m really looking forward to joining the team next season. I hope and expect that it will be a great run and I want to seize some nice results for the team and my new teammates” highlights Paulus.

The young Belgian talent has had an eventful 2019 as he rode to second in the Junior TT Nationals and to third in the overall classification of France’s Ain Bugey Valromey Tour and currently finds himself in preparation for the Junior World Championships, where he will defend the national team colors in the road race. Paulus comes into the U23 category ready and with a strong mindset to make the most of it. “In my first year with the team, I want to figure out what kind of rider I can become and which of my qualities I would be able to develop. I’m able to ride a pretty good time trial, but I also can handle myself in the hills and the mountains. So I look forward to sitting down with the Performance Staff and see how can we trace the best development plan for me”.

The 17-year old Belgian was attracted by the professionalism in which the Academy is run, and the international program that we put across for our riders to develop at the highest possible level. “Since the very first moment, I saw how professional and well-organized everything was at the Academy. They look beyond the U23 level and they always aim to get the best out of their riders through individualized training guidance and organizing training camps to prepare for specific goals. Also, the program is something really solid and attractive as it mixes the main U23 events of the calendar with high-quality races alongside professionals team. Having the chance to race in Italy for example, is something that really appeals to me”.
