Daan Hoole will represent the Netherlands in the U23 European Time Trial Championships that will take place tomorrow in Trentino. The TT specialist has high hopes for the event, following a solid performance at the Flanders Tomorrow Tour in which he finished third in the race against the clock and clinched a very strong second place in the overall standings. “My expectations are to give my 100% and to ride a good time trial. Preparations are going well. After the Tour de l’Avenier I had some rest days and I was back racing last weekend with some intense racing and even a good time trial as last preparations for the event” points out the former U23 Dutch Time Trial Champion.

Hoole, who has been into the Top 10 in the last 13 TT races that he has taken part into, as well as two TTT has already a mental picture of the parcours in his mind. “It will be technical final, so that will be something to really keep in mind. The first part looks more like long straight roads in which we positioning and power will be more essential than ever before. It will be key to do a proper recon and to set up the strategy based on that”. The 21-year old Dutchman has a sixth place in 2019 and an eigth place in 2020 under his belt and is looking to score his best result ever in the race.

The U23 European Time Trial Championships is a race that brings a lot of success to the Academy as we have claimed the continental crown of the discipline twice already. In 2015 it was Steven Lammertink who took the title and in 2018 Edoardo Affini outpowered his rivals on his way to the win.
