The U23 Belgian Road Race Nationals will feature our last road race of the 2020 season. Stan van Tricht and Jordi Meeus, will line up in Stad Lokeren with the aim of bringing back to the Academy the best possible result despite the short numbers. Our Belgian line up will miss Milan Paulus, who suffered a crash in Paris Tours U23 and broke his collarbone, which meant that his season was over. The race previews an aggressive day, as there will be many teams with deep rosters and different scenarios to manage. Both of our talents have showcased their current form in the latest races, with Meeus recently finishing second in Paris Tours U23, fourth in Gooikse Pijl, and fifth in Antwerp Port Epic. Stan van Tricht has recovered really well from his crash in the first stage of the Giro d’Italia U23, and his performances in recent races have validated that.

Lineup U23 Belgian Road Race Nationals: Jordi Meeus and Stan van Tricht.

Jordi Meeus will race for one last time in the Academy jersey:
“It will be super special to race in the SEG Racing Academy kit for one last time, as the team has become my second family during the last few years. About the race, it will be a very hard race tactically wise, as we will only participate with two riders and other teams will have 15 or 20. Our chances go through being always in the front of the race, making the action happen because if we fall behind and we have to chase, it will be game over for us. However, I’m confident that Stan and I are in a good shape and we are eager to make the best of it. For me personally, it would be a dream scenario if I could sprint for the win and thanking the team by taking the jersey home”
