Preview Czech Cycling Tour
05/08/2020
After a long period without races due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are happy to make our return to the racing scene with what will be our first stage race of the year, the Czech Cycling Tour. A strong field featuring up to 10 professional teams (6 WorldTour), will be the perfect test for our talents as they get going for an action-packed season in the coming two months. Our riders will hope to carry the good moment that has been shown in recent tests and make the most of the preparation we did in Limburg a couple of weeks ago in our training camp.
The race will be 4-day long, starting with a team time trial, followed by three stages that will combine potential bunch sprints and punchy climbs. This very same race brings back sweet memories to the team, as last year Alberto Dainese took the win in the final stage seizing his first-professional win.
Lineup Czech Tour: Marco Frigo, David Dekker, Jordi Meeus, Stan van Tricht, Maikel Zijlaard, Sven Burger and Daan Hoole.
Aike Visbeek, Academy Director and DS for the race:
“We are happy to be back on the road. It’s been a challenging period for everyone, but we are ready to pin on the numbers again and leave it all out on the road. The fact that we will be racing against 6 WorldTour teams and 4 from the ProContinental category it’s an added motivation for us, so we will be looking to do our best. With the lineup we bring here, and the good level that the riders showed in the training camp in Limburg, we will have different options every stage, so we will try to make the best out of it”.
