In two days’ time, our talents will be back at the racing scheme with the 3-day long Giro valle d’Aosta. The Italian stage race is one of the main events in the U23 calendar, with three really hard stages that will test the best climbers of the category. The last edition was held in 2019, where we achieved a strong result with a stage win in the first stage with Ide Schelling, who spend a day in yellow and Adam Hartley wrapped up a very strong performance and became second overall. We will be looking forward to top such success with riders like Harrison Wood and Marco Frigo coming from high-altitude training camps.
Lineup Giro valle d’Aosta: Marco Frigo, Harrison Wood, Milan Paulus, Sean Flynn and Tom Day.
Dries Hollanders, Academy DS for the race:
“This will be the first test in the mountains for three of our 5 riders of the lineup, so it’s difficult to set up precise expectations for that. What we can say is that we want to aim for a solid GC result for Marco Frigo, who will be our most experienced rider in the race, whilst for the others, it would be all about learning and developing. We will be building experiences for the future. It will be hard to top the performance of the last time, but let’s see the GC ranks after stage 1 and maybe we have more options in the team to get a nice result at the end”.
