After a long break due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are happy to be back on the road for a Kermesse in Belgium organized by our partner Vermarc. The Belgian-based company made a step ahead during this difficult times, and put together this event in which four of our talents will be able to compete with some of the best teams and riders in the peloton. The race will feature a 16,4 km long parcour that the bunch will tackle a total of ten times.

Lineup GP Vermarc: David Dekker, Jordi Meeus, Milan Paulus & Stan van Tricht

Jordi Meeus, winner of the Wanzele Pro Kermesse back in March:
“I am very excited to start racing again after the long break. For me personally but also for the team I think we showed we can prepare ourselves to top shape with high quality training. I expect it will be a fast and aggressive race. The team is used to this kind of races so I think we can go for a very good result. There will be many attacks, so it’s a case of not be surprised. We all look forward to it so let’s make it a good one”.

Dries Hollanders, Academy Sports Director:
“Like all teams in the sport, we are leaving a very difficult period behind. We managed to keep the riders motivated and close to perfect shape with the SEG eRacing Series at RGT as well as the SEG Performance Challenge by Tacx, and now we are very happy to be part of this event organized by Vermarc. Based on training and test results, our riders are more then ready to get back in the real action. Compared to the other teams, who are riding with 8 riders, we will only start with our 4 riders based in Belgium. As a team we made that choice, because the Covid-19 situation is getting better, but we don’t want to take any risks. As a team we are still concerned about the health of our riders in the first place. We are really happy to get back in action, but it must be safe for everyone! In terms of strategy we have two potential winner in David Dekker and Jordi Meeus, so our goal must be to have them in the right position coming into the final lap. I am confident that the team will be ready for victory just like they were in February/March. They are hungry to prove that our spectacular season start was no coincidence!”
