Preview Market Heistse Pijl
After some hectic racing action in last Sunday’s Paris Roubaix, the Academy will pin on the numbers again tomorrow in Belgium’s 1.1 Market Heistse Pijl. The race presents a predominantly flat parcour that will be decided after a total of eight local laps. A fast day on the bike, with no rest and tireless attacking, is expected as well as changing weather conditions. Seven talented riders will represent the Academy flag in the start line in Turnhout, with Cees Bol looking forward to continuing with his amazing results chart that has seen him a total of 19 times in the Top 10 in just 26 racing days.

Lineup Market Heistse Pijl: Ide Schelling, Minne Verboom, Jordi Meeus, Cees Bol, Marten Kooistra, George Stavrakakis & Julius van den Berg.

Ide Schelling, will be racing his last race before heading to the Giro d’Italia U23.
“I am expecting a really fast race tomorrow. The parcour is completely flat, so there are a lot of chances that the race is decided in a final bunch sprint. I think that I can help the team by getting into the early break or helping my teammates in the final sprint training that will depend on what we talk prior to the race. There is no doubt that our goal will be to deliver Cees (Bol) into the best possible position before the final sprint, but it will be also important to show the Academy colors in the break of a 1.1 race. For me, it will be the last day before heading to Italy for the Giro d’Italia U23. It is going to be a good race to get those last kilometers in the legs!”
