Preview of an action packed weekend for the Academy
Saturday’s Ronde van Zuid Holland and Sunday’s Omloop van het Waasland and Dorpenomloop Rucphen will feature an action packed weekend for our riders. The two Dutch races present flat parcours where the weather conditions like wind and rain will play and important role in the final outcome of the course. Meanwhile, the second Belgian kermesse of the season, will see again tireless attacking and high speed racing throughout the 10 laps of the circuit. After kicking off the season in a good note in Dwars door West Vlaanderen and winning Wanzeel Koerse last Wednesday, the confidence of our riders is growing at the same time that they put into display all the hard work done during the winter period.

Lineup Ronde van Zuid Holland: Ide Schelling, Marten Kooistra, Daan Hoole, Cees Bol, Edoardo Affini and Stephen Williams.
Lineup Omloop van het Waasland: Ide Schelling, Minne Verboom, Marten Kooistra, Daan Hoole and Thymen Arensman.
Lineup Dorpenomloop Rucphen: Julius van den Berg, Cees Bol, Jan Maas, Stephen Williams,  Edoardo Affini, Jordi Meeus and Peter Lenderink.

Ide Schelling is looking forward to compete in home roads in Saturday’s Ronde van Zuid Holland:
“I am feeling confident going into the weekend, my form is getting better and I can’t wait to race in my training roads on Saturday. I know the parcours really well and I want show myself in a positive way. I think that I can surprise others and finish with a good result. As any other flat Dutch race it will hugely depend on the wind. If there’s enough the bunch will quickly split into small groups and the race will start over again. We have a strong team and we will not be afraid of taking control of the race in the most important moments”.

Vasilis Anastopoulos, Performance Manager, highlights the goals for this weekend:
“The physical condition is good after a very  good winter, so we just need some one day races to get into race rhythm in order to come in good shape towards an important block of races that will follow over the next 2 months. We can expect our riders to show themselves, race aggressively and go for the win, if the chance is there! Last Sunday, our team was one of few that finished the race with 6 guys and Cees won on Wednesday so we definitely  want to keep performing like that. The main goal will be to get the high intensities that only races can offer, avoid some tactical mistakes we did last week and for sure, to fight for the win”.
