On Sunday, we will line up for our last race of the season as a team, Paris Tours U23. The French race will present a very tough parcour that will include several gravel sections, which will make it a challenging day for the whole bunch. The Academy will get to the start line with a mixed lineup that will feature the riders in the best shape possible at the moment. Daan Hoole and Maikel Zijlaard have had a good approach to this race in terms of performance and they will be joined by our Belgian trio who’s getting the legs ready for the U23 Belgian nationals next week. The strong lineup as well as the past experience in this race, exemplified with Marten Kooistra’s win in 2018, are the perfect mix to aim for a good result and fight for the win.

Lineup Paris – Tours U23: Daan Hoole, Jordi Meeus, Maikel Zijlaard, Stan van Tricht and Milan Paulus.

Dries Hollanders, SEG Racing Academy DS for the race:
“Let’s be clear, we really want to finish this season as we started, with a win. We only go to Paris-Tours because we want to take home the victory. Our line up for the race is the strongest and most-suited that we can put together at the moment. Daan Hoole and Maikel Zijlaard have had strong performances in the races leading to this one, maybe they lacked a result but the numbers and the legs are there. Meanwhile, the three Belgian riders are building up for the nationals next week, so I expect the three of them to be on top shape. It will be a challenging course, not only for the riders but also for the mechanics because of the off-road sections. However, we have a lot of confidence in our equipment suppliers and with the Schwalbe tires, to allow us to be in contention at the end”.
