Preview Ronde de l’Isard
Tomorrow the Academy will kick off in Lorp-Sentaraille its participation in the 2018 edition of the famous Ronde de l’Isard. Four days of hard racing and steep long climbs await the riders, but all the work and dedication will pay off for the 6 talented riders that will lineup in the race.  Jan Maas (ninth) and Stevie Williams (11th) rounded up a really strong performance last year, and both riders are looking forward to improving what they achieved in 2017. The first two stages will see the peloton finishing up in mountaintop finishes, while the third day will be lighter when it comes to altitude meters climbed. The race will wrap up with repetition of last year’s stage where three categorized climbs will be tackled before a long descent to Saint Girons, where the race will finish.

The Ronde de l’Isard has always been a race that young future talents have shown themselves, and we can’t wait to see the Academy colors flying up the French Mountains.

Lineup Ronde de l’Isard: Daan Hoole, Ide Schelling, George Stavrakakis, Jan Maas, Peter Lenderink & Stevie Williams.

Stevie Williams looks forward to stepping up this year:
“I think that we have shown that we have some form in the recent races, so the overall morale will be high and legs will be ready as well. We know that it is going to be a hard four days of racing without any easy moments, so we have to be ready for that and give our best. We will be six strong riders in the first startline, so that as well gives us many cards to play. Ronde de l’Isard is a big one for the team, and we are more than ready for it!”.
