Jesper Rasch has been off to a strong season start. After a strong ride in Le Samyn, he was our designed sprinter for GP Monseré last Sunday, in which he finished in a hard-fought 12th place after fighting it out with several big names. However, the season is just getting started, so we caught up with Jesper ahead of another block of training ahead of the next goals.

– How do you feel after the season start?
Especially in Monseré was a race to show myself in the bunch sprint. In the final, I did not get into any problems and I was able to maintain myself well in the front. In the end, I can be satisfied with my final and the result was not bad either. But it would have been better if the little things went a little better. But overall, It’s really nice to be back in a peloton.

– Now that you got racing underway, what do you want to work on and improve?
The points for improvement of the past year have improved significantly. now it is time for a new step. In the races, mutual communication can be more profitable. Personally, I also want to work more on the last kilometers of a bunch sprints. I know that the sprint is good, now it is important to start the sprint as fresh as possible.

– What are the main goals in the short term?
Now there is another period without races. Now that I cannot prepare for the races in advance or analyze them afterward, I immerse myself in other aspects that will improve my performance and that will help me in life as a professional cyclist. When there is a clearer picture when the races are there, the focus will eventually be on that. Because of the first two races that I have ridden, I have a lot of confidence in my performance, but also as a team on the whole. We have shown that we are not inferior to the big professional teams.
