Queen stage done and dusted in Alsace
Today’s profile presented a big showdown as it was marked as the queen stage of the Tour de l’Alsace. Eight categorized climbs were compressed in the 160 km long route that the peloton had to face between Neuf-Brisach and Dannemarie.

The hilly start was an opportunity for the stage hunters to make their moves, but the bunch did not let the gap go too far and controlled at all times all the attacks and groups that tried to go up the road. That position adopted by the peloton allowed our Julius van den Berg to smartly take the second intermediate sprint of the day right after the main group bridged across a breakaway group.

The tough final broke the race into pieces with our riders getting to the line in some of the small groups behind the stage winner, with Lucas Erikssion coming in 23th place and Jan Maas rolling in 28th.

A lumpy 130 km long stage holds the last opportunity for our guys to show our colors.
