Jesper Rasch joined our program as a trainee in 2018 and since then he has been constantly improving his sprinting skills and top speed. In 2020 he seized two strong podium results in Wanzele Koerse and in Omloop van Valkenswaard as well as a solid Top 5 in Omloop van der Braakman. These great performances allowed him to finish atop of the Best Young Rider classification at the Top Competitie. “After a very good preparation in Greece, I was ready for the season. Especially in Wanzele Koerse, a race that suits me well, I was able to show myself well and rode for the victory. I sprinted to the podium behind Jordi (Meeus) who crossed the line solo. During the lockdown, I worked hard to get even stronger. This resulted in a number of short results in the second half of the season. This was the confirmation for me that I am now among the strongest in racing and that I can ride for the victory more often this year” highlights Rasch.

Our 22-year old sprinter has been working closely with our Performance Partner, CyclingLab to make the most out of his progression. “I have given more attention to strength training in collaboration with CyclingLab. This made me stronger in the sprint, but also in the endurance rides. This was also a point of attention for me to get fresher in the final of a race. the races showed that I have improved a lot in this and this gives me the confidence to show this again after this winter training period”

The 2021 season will be an important one for Jesper who will be focussing on week-long flat stages. However, Rasch feels calm and relaxed about the coming season and has a clear goal. “Win races. During every training that I completed this winter, I thought about the races that I hope will come. Last summer I finished my study Journalism, so now I can spend even more time on improving myself. I really looking forward to riding with my teammates and get the best out of the races. I hope we get a ‘normal’ season with enough races to show our team spirit”
