We are excited to welcome Corbin Strong in our 2020 Academy roster. The multi-talented New Zealand rider will combine track and road racing as he prepares for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the national squad. “I am really excited to be a part of the SEG Racing Academy family. Living and racing in Europe is a dream for most young cyclists from New Zeland. I am humbled that the team is giving me this opportunity and I look forward to racing in the biggest U23 races in the world” points out Strong, who’s currently a first year U23.
The 19-year old rider, who in 2018 became Junior World Champion in the track in the team pursuit discipline and in 2019 has won the Young Riders Classification in the Tour of Korea and Japan’s Tour of Kumano, has a clear mindset coming into the Academy roster. “I am looking forward to developing my cycling skills on and off the bike and gaining experience in the European scene. I hope to eventually follow the path of many other Academy riders and sign a pro-contract in the future” highlights Strong.
The reputation of the Academy and the track of riders moved up to the pro ranks through our professional and devleopment-oriented program really caught the eye of the talented New Zeland rider, who had it clear when the proposal came. “The reputation that SEG Racing Academy has is second to none. They have a very professional set up and the past five years show that it’s been a successful one. I feel privileged to race for SEG Racing Academy in 2020”.
