Who?    Adriaan Janssen, born in 1995, he arrived to the Academy ahead of the 2017 season as last year U23 ready to take the next step.  What about him?    Adriaan joined the team for the 2017 season from Jo Piels Cycling Team as a last year U23 rider. Eurode Omloop feature the last round of the 2017 Top Competitie's race. With start and finish in Markt the riders had go around an almost 13 kilometers long circuit a total of 12 times to finish off the 180 km long course. The race was off to a fast start and it took almost an hour before the eventual break of the day was set. Ninth place for Adriaan Janssen at Echt-Susteren

Today's Kernen Omloop Echt-Susteren was a special day for our team as our strong Dutchman Peter Lenderink made his return to the racing scheme after undergoing surgery on his groin in April. The 191 km long parcour with start and finish in Echt was marked by a fast start and a succession of attacks, but it wasn't until a 13-man group went up the road that the breakaway was finally set.  Omloop van der Braakman's winner, Adriaan Janssen, made the front cut and kept the Academy's colors well-represented upfront. A bunch sprint decides the stage 2 at the Czech Tour

Today's 202 km long stage featured the longest day of the race. The bunch was off to a fast start until a group of five riders broke clear to the hilly parcour. Following team's orders our Italian rider, Edoardo Affini, joined the move and stayed upfront until a mechanical forced him to wait for the car and rejoin the pack. Sixth place in the opening TTT at the Czech Tour

The 2017 edition of the Czech Cycling Tour kicked off in Uničov with a 18,6 km long Team Time Trial. It was a fast parcour with some with some technical section that our guys overcame sensationally in their way to a final sixth place overall, with four riders finishing just 28 seconds down on the winning squad. The team's strategy was based on using the power of some of the riders in the first kilometers of the stage, meanwhile some other saved energy riding on the wheels. Adriaan Janssen will join Lotto NL Jumbo as a trainee

Adriaan Janssen stood at the top of the Best Young Rider classification at Top Competitie's and secured himself a traineeship at WorldTour's Lotto NL Jumbo, starting August the 1st. The 21-year old finished in seventh place at TT Emmen and together with his win in the cobbled Omloop van der Braakmen and other top placements allowed him to keep the white and orange jersey on his shoulders. Three riders in the top 10 at TT Emmen

Hard day out for the team in Top Competitie's TT Emmen. Three of our riders featured the final top 10 of today's 27 km time trial. The race presented a flat and tough parcour which was run in the open roads around the Dutch city.  Our first rider off the ramp was Hartthijs de Vries, who put on big power during the whole length of the circuit and ended up in sixth overall. Strong team performance in the IT Vaals

Our guys put on a great performance as today's test around Vaals was a difficult one. The 15,5 km long time trial went through a hilly circuit which made it a tough one for the riders. The recently crowned U23 National champion, Julius van den Berg, showed the Dutch stripes and finished his ride in the top spot of the table, only being beaten minutes later by one other rider. JULIUS VAN DE BERG WINS U23 DUTCH NATIONAL TIME TRIAL TITLE

What a way to kick off the Dutch National Championships! Our Julius van den Berg made the most of his good form and claimed the U23 title in Montferland. The strong Dutchman was the fastest of the field and the only rider to complete the circuit under 31 minutes. Van den Berg has been showing his talent when riding against the clock by winning the District Championship and finishing eight in the Giro time trial stage but this win is a huge success for him and the team. Janssen keeps the Best Young Rider Jersey in Limburg

It was difficult day around Limburg, with plenty of short steep climbs marking today's parcours. The three-rider breakaway was chased down when the bunch got in the race's closing kilometres. There were lots of attacks in the final part, with our guys remaining in the peloton. When the eventual solo winning attack was made, four of our riders were in the chasing group.
