Double action day for the team

Yesterday we wrapped up the Ronde de l'Isard with a tough a fast stage where our Jan Maas was 15th in the stage and secured his Top 10 place on GC by moving up to ninth overall. Our British climber Stephen Williams rounded up a good days of racing for the team in France, finishing in 11th place. In Omloop der Kempen, our team could not defend the leaders jersey as Adriaan Janssen rolled in 16th place after the team tried to bring the eventually winning group of five riders back. It was a fast day at Ronde van Noord Holland, and as expected the wind was present from early on. Our riders were always present in the moves and echelons, with Julius van den Berg and Adriaan Janssen representing the team in a dangerous moves in the first part of the race. What a day it was today! On German roads, four of our riders took part in the U23 race of the WorldTour’s Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt. After an amazing ride under a very strong and persistent rain, Adriaan Janssen and Fabio Jakobsen were part of an 8 man group that was upfront in the final local circuit. Once again, the peloton was off to a fast start in the streets of Stein. Several attacks and breakaway attempts were made during the first hour of racing, but none of those w allowed a considerable gap. Finally, it was a group of 14 riders, including Top Competitie’s leader Adriaan Janssen, making it to the front and being allowed a two-minute gap. Adriaan Janssen seized his first win of the season last Saturday, after riding solo to the line in the cobbled Omloop van de Braakman. “It was a tough race and it was hard to get in the right group. I had good legs and we were not working well together, so I decided to attack and go full gas during the last lap. What a day it was today at Omloop van de Braakman! With 50 km to go, the eventual winning move was made by ten riders, including Adriaan Janssen, who went up the road. Out of those ten, only seven made it to the last lap. And with 5km to go Adriaan launched his attack to ride solo to the finish line! To face today’s cobbles, Schwalbe provided us with tubeless tyres and the result was superb!
