Coming weekend Fabio Jakobsen and Julius van den Berg will be defending the colors of the Dutch National team. After riding Ronde van Vlaanderen last weekend, now it is time for ZLM Roompot Tour.  The third event of the U23 Nations Cup will take place next Saturday in an 181 km long route with start and finish in the Dutch city of Goes. Fabio sixth in Normandie; Hartthijs fifth in Gent-Wevelgem

That is a wrap for our first stage race of the season! Today's stage was off to a fast start as it took a while for the breakaway to being formed. Eventually a group of 3 guys went up the road and stayed there until 6 km to go. Fabio Jakobsen close to the victory again at Tour de Normandie

Today was no easy day for the team in Tour de Normandie. A four men breakaway animated the race early on and led it for most part of the day, but because of the fast pace of the peloton the gap was never higher than 3 minutes. Our guys worked hard during the whole day and with 50 km to go they took the lead of the bunch and controlled the chase.  The group got together into the last lap and the speed increased as a massive sprint was coming up. Gabriel Cullaigh finishes tenth in stage 4 of Tour de Normandie

It was a cold, rainy and windy day in Tour de Normandie. Stage three kicked off at the foot of a 2 km long hill, and after several attempts the breakaway was composed. Five riders, including our Marten Kooistra went up the road and worked together during the vast majority of the stage. Meanwhile the peloton was riding at controlled tempo, keeping the leader's gap always around two minutes. Fabio Jakobsen wins stage 2 of Tour de Normandie

Another fast day in Tour de Normandie. As yesterday the peloton rode very fast, and the gap of the four men breakaway never got over two minutes.  Our  team was perfectly positioned in the bunch all day long, and that counted at the final part of the stage. Exceptional work by the lead-out train put Fabio Jakobsen in excellent position and the U23 Dutch Champion finished it off with an amazing win!  Impressive season start by Fabio as he grabs his second win and third podium in only five racing days!  Congratulations to all! Fast day in Dorpenomloop Rucphen today! After one hour of racing the first breakaway went clear. Several attemps were made during the first part of the race, and our guys managed to keep the team well represented. The first of our two races of the weekend is done and dusted. Ronde van Drenthe saw our Julius van den Berg jump into the break just a few moments in the race. The leading group was allowed over 8 minutes before the peloton started the chase. First weekend of racing – recap

What a start of the season for our guys! Last week, Stephen Williams won the Wattmeister competition. He is now one step closer to a traineeship with Katusha Cycling. On Saturday, Fabio Jakobsen spent the day working in the breakaway and, after following all the late attacks, launched and dominated the final sprint to take the victory at Ster Van Zwolle! Ster van Zwolle: first race, first victory

Ster van Zwolle was our first race of the season and what a race it was! An early 9-man breakaway including Fabio Jakobsen was allowed up to 9 minutes by the bunch. The main group tried to get back the break cutting the gap down to 5 min with 30 km remaining, but victory remained upfront. After controlling  some attacks by his breakaway companions in the final end of the course, Fabio sprinted to victory! What a way to kick off our season!continue reading →
